Your last post gave me the extra boast to declutter and hoping it will get me out of the slump I’m in (also from a lack of sunshine and damp conditions) and I notice I have 2 dresses that I’ve only wore once that are absolutely beautiful but aren’t ideal to wear regularly or confidently for the fear of them falling off me since they are strapless and I don’t have a chest large enough to keep them securely in place. I can’t seem to part with them though. I tell myself maybe someone can transform them for me to include straps or I’ll just keep for a special time when I’m just going to an event where I’ll be stationary. I can relate to the cowboy hat though! I don’t like to stand out when I’m in public but also like items that would make me stand out!
When we decided to move to Washington, we rid ourselves of everything that we could part with. I must say it was very freeing at the time, but now that I’ve been here for a little over six months, I think back to some of the things that I did let go of and it does hurt my heart. I love that you kept your letterman‘s jacket and I agree it does need to be seen.
Hi, the first time I went bowling I was well into my 40s. The little town I grew up in had no bowling alley. It had 1 paved road, no stop light, a middle school (If you were elementary or high school you were bused 3 miles to the next town west of us. If you lived in that town and in middle school, you were bussed east 3 miles to our town. What's in my closet???? I still have my wedding dress. I was able to fit into it in my 50s. In my 60s, not so much. There was a wraparound skirt that I made when I was 17 that has been donated to my granddaughters' dress up box. 70s patchwork fabric. I have a picture of me at 17 wearing that skirt. I should show the girls. I love girls nights out. Have you watched the movie Moms Night Out? I love it. When my 2 sisters and I were together last (we are many states apart) we watched Mom's Night Out. The jail scene is amazing. Watch it with friends. :)
I loved this post. It made me think of a few items in my closet that I have been saving. I need to actually purge my closet some more. I got rid of a lot last year. I love the Letterman’s jacket. I just learned you graduated from England. That is awesome! Thank you SO much for sharing! Sounds like the bowling was fun also. It has been too long. God bless!
I loved this! I'm so happy you wore the jacket. :-)
There are a number of things I don't wear often (maybe need to donate?), but one that I'd love to be able to wear again is a blouse from the early 1900s that was some distant ancestor's. I like it a lot, but it's so old that wearing it causes holes to form! So right now it just hangs in my closet, being seen, and waiting for some spark of creativity to give it new life.
Or maybe just cut out a particularly pretty portion and either frame it or add it to a journal or some sort. Or maybe that's just the artist in me coming out :)

Maybe you could have someone split your dress into a skirt?
And yes, I'm also looking forward to longer (and hopefully sunnier) days!
Good idea!
