I am attempting my first ever commonplace this year and it is hard!!! I enjoy the challenge of trying to write slower, and it has caused me to think a little bit deeper about things but I also feel like it’s made me slower and I lose more thoughts. I type faster than I write. And for some reason, my dyslexic brain likes the keyboard better. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I also started a common place in a Google notes that I now keep on my phone and I find that really handy as well. I don’t always have the ability to carry a pen and paper with me but the day and age we live in my phone is frequently with me so it’s really easy to whip it out type the note and go back to my day.

Yes, I find that, too. Deeper...but less. Right now, that is exactly what I want and need.

I wonder if there is a generational difference as well. As a Gen X, I clearly remember the difference "before" and "after". And perhaps the addiction and distraction isn't as bad for some people who has grown up around this technology. Either way, I hope that whatever tools we use, it is we who are using them, and not them using us.
